Dear Friends,
During our most recent Board of Directors meeting, board member, Ross Reid opened in prayer using the following words; "Lord, please encourage and strengthen Dr. Gamble and his staff."
As a new member to the board (but longtime friend of MHI), I took his plea to heart. Since joining the board, I have been asking myself, how can I make a difference in the day to day activities at MHI. While I pray often for the success of the clinic, I was lacking the direction I needed to focus my prayers on the staff. Encourage and Strengthen.
As I sat in the last meeting I jotted a note to myself that I needed to find a way to encourage and strengthen the staff not only with my prayers but with my words to you all as well. I am thankful for the technology that allows me to put my words in a note here in Vermont and have them end up on your desktop.
I intend to write at least monthly, more often as I am led. My goal will be to provide words that encourage and strengthen each of you as you take on the mission of the clinic and spread health, healing and the good news to those you meet daily.
Feel free to share specific areas of need and prayer in the comments section of any posting. I will add them to my daily prayer list. But, don't ever feel that you have to respond or comment, the joy will be in the postings alone.
So for today, I offer the following:
I have always been amazed at the warmth and caring of the MHI team. You each have a deep understanding of and a sincere love for the challenges that each patient faces in their mission work. It is that understanding and love that everyone feels and embraces when they walk through the doors of MHI. From the warm greeting at the front desk, to the coffee and giraffe in the waiting area, to the warm stethoscope and gentle touch, to the kind word and compassionate embrace, to the "See you again" as they leave - each is a precious gift that you have carefully nurtured to deliver at just the right moment.
I pray that you are lifted higher and that you are filled with the power of love as you tackle the tasks of your day. I pray for your health, your families and your spiritual walk. May you be blessed abundantly.
