Yesterday morning I filmed a few of my fine feathered friends fueling up for a cold Vermont day. This little guy, a Goldfinch, in return, has fueled me with joy as I ponder his unique beauty.
I am encouraged by his strength of grip, his ability to hang on even by a mere thread as he waits patiently for an opportunity to feed.
I am encouraged by his flexibility, his ability to manipulate his legs, feet and claws to hold himself upright.
And, I am encouraged by his beauty, his vibrant yellows, bold blacks and contrasting whites.
But most encouraging is his look of determination. His "I'm hanging on here until I get a bite to eat!" focus on his task at hand.
He reminded me of my friends at MHI and I hope that he is a beacon of encouragement in your day.
I pray that you are filled with the strength to tackle your tasks and fears of the day. I pray for your flexibility to handle whatever may come your way. And, I pray that your beauty shine through to all you come in contact with. But most of all, I pray that you are filled with encouragement to "hang on" in the face of your task at hand.
I continue to pray for your health, your families and your spiritual walk. May you be blessed abundantly.
