Good Evening Friends,
This year July 4th fell close to the middle of the week. That tends to confuse Americans because we don't know whether to celebrate our Independence day the weekend before, on the actual 4th, or the weekend after.
I am blessed to live on top of a large hill with an incredible view. So for me, no matter where or when people are gathered for the festivities, we have the benefit of seeing their fireworks - all week long. In fact, if you get a chance, ask Dr. Gamble about the night we sat out on the deck and watched fireworks from Montreal. Turned out it was..no wait, I'll let him tell you. Pretty awesome!
So, what do fireworks have to do with encouragement? And why would a Yank use the 4th of July as a pep talk for a group of hard working Canadians? Well, here is the connection. Fourth of July fireworks are a reminder of the battles that our forefathers fought to secure our freedom. Whenever I see fireworks I am encouraged in the knowledge that I live in a free land. That colorful explosion is capable of turning my attention toward the sacrifice others have made for me.
When missionaries see the MHI logo, they are reminded of the hard work and sacrifice each of you has made to protect them from disease and to help them secure a healthy mind, body and spirit - allowing them to focus on God's calling. You are an integral part of the work many people do around the globe. And even from afar, each time they see a reminder of MHI and that love that you so unselfishly show them, they are encouraged as well. Your work matters to God. Pretty awesome!
I continue to pray for your health, your families
and your spiritual walk. May you be blessed abundantly.
In
Him,
Dave
