Good morning Friends,
This past month I have been asked to speak at several Christian camps and team practices. The theme has been teamwork and working well with one another. For years I have been influenced by Joe Erhmann, an All-American, All-Pro football player who shares the belief that our biggest callings are to love and to allow ourselves to be loved. He also adds that we should have a purpose that is bigger than we are.
A simple exercise that I use to help begin to understand how we can share our love and receive it at the same time is what I call "30 Seconds of Positive Affirmation." It goes like this, pair up with a co-worker, ask them if they have 30 seconds, use that 30 seconds to tell your co-worker how much you appreciate them. When your 30 seconds is up, give your co-worker a hug and head on your way. Now, they may want to reciprocate - which is also nice. If they do, listen closely and enjoy.
Imagine the impact you can have on someone's day in just 30 seconds.
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up... 1 Thes 5:11
Oh, and by the way, I believe that what you do each and every day has a purpose that is bigger than all of us. Amen.
As always, I pray for your health, your families, your good fortune and your faith. May you be blessed abundantly.
In Him,
Dave
