Family Excitement

Dear Friends,

I am trying to see how best to offer words of encouragement through the excitement of the new season in my personal life. Somewhere in all of this is meant to be a nugget of boost - stick with me.

When I look at my life, and maybe this the "older person" in me poking through, I get a sense of rejuvenation with each new phase of my life - call them seasons.

This week Sue and I head south to escort our daughter, Addie, to her first day as a Clemson University freshman studying psychology. For those of you who have been praying for Addie over the past years, this is a wonderful milestone for her to achieve. I revel in her tenacity and determination to do well. I am an empty nester - she is an encouragement.

A couple of weeks later we will be celebrating the gift of marriage as my youngest son, Kit and his fiancé, MaryCourtney walk down the aisle. They will both be serving in our Lord's army as missionaries for YoungLife Ministries in Columbia, SC. I revel in their youthful excitement and by their purposeful, loving, and God-centered approach to this huge step. I am a new father-in-law - they are an encouragement.

So, I guess what I am saying is that when you feel that need for a boost - look at the lives around you and feel the encouragement in your life that can come from seeing the achievements in the walk of others. Make sense?

I pray for your health, your families, your day to day energy and for your continued success in all you do.

In Him,
Dave
