Lou Holtz

Dear Friends,

As the weekend approaches and the Friday moves forward, I realize that I have left today and am already thinking about the weekend. Not very fair for the rest of the work I have to do today, now is it?

But I am psyched thinking about all the great accomplishments you all have achieved this week.

And I was reminded of a quote that Lou Holtz shared. You might know Lou as the myopic, former Notre Dame/South Carolina/New York Jets/Arkansas/Minnesota/William & Mary/North Carolina State football coach, turned sports analyst, motivational speaker. Or maybe not - anyone who moves around that much might be hard to keep track of.

Anyway, Lou is quoted as have said "Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it."

So, for every moment of every day we are governed by our ability, motivation or attitude. We may have the capacity to do something but lack the motivation. We may have the motivation but are limited by our attitude. OR, we might be having an awesome day where we are hitting on all three cylinders and ability, motivation and attitude are at our peak. WOW!

I pray that you find those moments of "wowness" and that you share "wowness" moments with those around you.

As always, I pray for you and your families. I pray for your health, your strength, and your spiritual well being. I pray that God fill your weekend with moments of awe and grace.

In Him,
Dave
