Dear Friends,
Last week (or maybe the one before) we had the honor of attending our youngest son's wedding. He has been gifted with a beautiful bride and her marvelous family. We have been blessed with a new daughter and a boat load of new friends.
This wedding had something special and encouraging for all of us who were in attendance. These newlyweds were surrounded by people who just wanted to share in their love for each other and their joy of life. I have never been at event where so many people were thrilled to be part of the excitement of the moment. As I thanked one young lady for helping celebrate the evening, she replied; "These two are easy to celebrate." I had to agree.
When I attend a wedding, I like to use the time during the ceremony to renew the vows that I had pledged to my wife years ago. During this wedding however, I was equally encouraged to look for new ways to pursue my wife, new ways to add more to our marriage and new ways to celebrate our relationship. I was encouraged by just being in their midst in that valley in the Carolina foothills.
I offer you the same challenge today. Look among your colleagues, friends, loved ones and patients and find a spark of excitement that you can parlay into your own. Encouragement comes in many shapes and sizes. A simple smile can be contagious. A small gesture of kindness can ignite a landslide of new love for an old soul. I encourage you to find something or someone around you to celebrate. You will feel a new warmth in your own heart.
I pray for love and peace in your homes, for health, and for a sense of calm in all that you pursue. May your day be filled with the joy of the Lord and His faithful promise of hope.
Blessings,
Dave
