Dear Friends,
You have all heard it said many times that "The Best Things in Life, Are NOT Things."
Most recently I have been seeing signs that this is as important a fact today as ever. Our global quest for more "stuff" is clouding the judgment of leaders around the world. Our papers are filled with instances of people killing and fighting over possessions or our right to be right.
Yet, our greatest gift is not our ability to conquer each other but rather our ability to love one another. Love of things is a waste - love of people is a mission.
Why bring this out today? Because it is never too late to encourage the right behavior. And when I think of the love and sacrifice that you all make for others - I am encouraged. You are the prime example of what is right with our world. People helping people who want to help people help themselves. Or more slowly - MHI staff helping missionaries who are helping the lost find the truth.
What a wonderful way to think about the mission of the love that you have to share with your clients and friends.
I pray for the strength and courage to carry out your daily work. I pray for a loving touch that will transform. I pray for your families. And, I pray that your day be filled with the love of Jesus.
Blessing,
Dave
